Friends. Plans. Places.

Current test release: intended for consenting adult testers (18+). Both you and your friend need the app, Google sign-in and an internet connection.

WHY FRIENDPICKER?

Less checking around.
More time together.

Keep your circle’s plans and shared places in one place, without posting everything to everyone.

01

A home for each circle

Create separate groups for friends, adult family members, colleagues or a travel party. Invitations and acceptance help keep each group personal.

02

Make the next plan happen

Post a movie, dinner, outing or question with a date and time. Choose the groups that can see it, so your other circles are not included.

03

See your group together

Use the native Standard map or configured Google Maps to view permitted member positions together with names, profile photos and update times. Filter to one group or choose individual people.

04

Know what’s coming up

Home brings together friends’ upcoming activities that are visible to you. Activities disappear from the feed when their scheduled end time passes.

05

Choose what you share

Use a Location ON/OFF switch for each group. Manage your photo and profile details in Settings. Location permission and profile visibility are separate choices.

06

Ask your circle for help

Send an SOS alert to a chosen group, with an optional note and a fresh location snapshot when available. Members can acknowledge the alert.

FAMILIAR INVITATIONS

Start with a friend
you already know.

WhatsApp carries the invitation. FriendPicker handles acceptance and group membership.

1. Invite

Tap Add friend · WhatsApp on your group card. Choose one friend, review the message and send it.

2. Open

Your friend opens the link and taps Open FriendPicker. If needed, they install the app first, then return to the invitation.

3. Accept

After Google sign-in and profile setup, your friend reviews the group and inviter, then accepts the invitation.

4. Confirm

You confirm the person under Friends waiting to join and tap Approve. The group appears on their phone.

Each invitation is for one friend and expires after seven days. Everyone in a group can invite; the inviter approves their own request. Opening a link alone never adds a person to a group.

GET STARTED

Your first few minutes
with FriendPicker.

  1. Install the Android app

Download the APK below and open it. If Android asks, allow installation from the browser or file manager you used. Existing users should install as an update with the same signing identity.

  2. Sign in with Google

Choose your Google account. Google login does not require a phone SMS code. Your email is not shown to group members.

  3. Save your name, photo and place

Add your name, profile photo and city or town, then tap Save & continue. A full street address is not required. Add extra details or edit your profile later in Settings.

  4. Choose your permissions

Read the first-use explanation and choose whether to allow notifications and location in the Android prompts. You can decline and still use groups and plans.

  5. Create a group and invite your people

Open Groups → New group, give it a name and create it. Use Add friend · WhatsApp to send an invitation. Join an existing group by opening a friend’s link or using Join group with its code.

  6. Post your first activity

Open Plans, enter a title and optional details, choose a fixed time, From–To range or whole day, select the allowed groups and tap Post activity. Eligible group members receive notification requests, subject to their phone settings and connection.

  7. Explore the group map

Open Map and choose all groups or one group. Expand Choose people to filter members. You can also tap Group map on a group card. Use the Location switch beside each group to control sharing with that group.

A LITTLE HELP

Common questions.

Does my friend need FriendPicker too?

Yes. Both people need the app and a signed-in account. If the app is not installed, download it here, install it and reopen the invitation link. A link can also be pasted into Groups → Join group.

Why is my friend not in the group after accepting?

The inviter must approve the request. Ask them to open Groups and look under Friends waiting to join. Confirm the requester’s identity before approving. Lists update automatically while open.

Can I keep my location private from one group?

Yes. Turn that group’s Location switch OFF. Other groups have independent switches. Turning OFF stops uploads locally; server removal needs a connection, and previously cached copies may remain until refreshed or expired.

Why can’t I see a member’s photo or a fresh location?

Member photos come from saved FriendPicker profiles. A missing photo may mean it has not been saved or the server/app needs updating. Location depends on their consent, Android permission, group switch, phone location services and connection. This release sends updates only while the app is open.

What if Google sign-in does not finish?

Try Choose another Google account after the error. If Google asks you to sign in again, complete its prompt. Sign-in help can copy public app-signing details for support. Contact jkfutureindia@gmail.com with your phone model, app version and exact error; never send passwords or private keys.

Can I add birthdays and more personal details?

Yes. Settings → Edit profile contains optional details. Birthday reminders have a separate group audience. Add information about other people only with permission, and review profile privacy before sharing.

Does signing out delete my account?

No. This test release does not yet offer self-service account deletion. Use the FriendPicker deletion help to contact support about removing the Firebase identity and associated server data.
